This image appears to be a mass produced "sepia" print of the person, and not an actual real photograph.

Yes, the image is enhanced on the RAO. The RAO was touched up to show detail when this sepia image was made.

It's my understanding that all RAO had hand painted eagle emblems on the center disk, even the lower classes of the order. It's also my understanding that some of the various makers such as Sy & Wagner, Godet, etc., had their own distinct eagle which can be identified on the RAO's.
