Interesting piece

I'm sure some of you have seen this piece on Ebay Germany. Its a M15 Hohenfriedberg 1745 enlisted man kurassier helmet. After much discussion the seller finally agreed to post some pictures of the front and back of the helmet wappen. IMO it looks like there might be some significant rust under all the paint. If you look closely at the globe, and more specifically the cross, you can see that it is corrode and has jagged edges.

What do you all think?

It's a shame about its current state and its way beyond me even thinking of is as a project due to both price and condition but maybe someone with serious talent in the resurrecting of long dead Militaria would take a chance.

It's one of those rare items you wish you would have found many many years ago.

It is tough to say just looking at pictures on a website such as ePay. What kind of items has this seller sold in the past? Just wondering.
Good luck
John

An exceptional helmet, especially in the M15 version.
Unfortunately, it was stored in very poor conditions, having been abandoned for a long time in a damp environment. The metal is very corroded. Everything has been sanded, cleaned and repainted. In Germany, this helmet is classified as "Zustand3", i.e. in poor condition and "repainted" to hide the misery.
I won't go over €1,000
