Interesting Trench Art

I don't have this in hand yet but it a really interesting piece of trench art.

German 7.7 cm shell casing made into a cap. Pickelhaube knopf on the front and British General Service buttons on the side and neat chinstrap made of wire.

I suspect it was made by a British soldier based on the buttons.

Nice piece of trench art. I pick these up whenever I see them at a reasonable price.

I've seen similar done in various size shells, but never with Pickelhaube parts or such a fine job in braiding. Often the cap brim is a separate cut or bent forward.
