Internment of British soldiers

Groningen, my home town, located in the north of the Netherlands and obviously far away from the hostilities on the western front was used by the Dutch authorities for the internment of British soldiers, primarily of the Naval division, who fled to Holland after the collapse of Antwerp in late 1914. Nine British service men who died during this period are buried in Groningen.
