Yes, very "hmmmm". Everything here looks to be repo parts to my eye especially the "pebbling" in the Peninsula banner. if it is too good to be true then it probably is.

I didn't even catch the motto problem. Hope he didn't drill holes in the bird to attach the Totkenkopf.
The Landeskokarde looks like the Argentine colors.
 
So I asked the seller where exactly he acquired his helmet from and if he had any documentation or papers of authenticity. He replied with..........
"Hi,I have purchased this helmet in Germany three
years ago has Mr.Fengler, it's a local collector, I do not papers."
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I find the fact that he has no reserve price is a bit odd. :?
 
Yeah, and this german seller seems to have big "funny" problems with his translation into french with the following current item... Meaning the "Überzug", he is writing the french word :... "couche"...
The english translation of this word is: ..."diaper"... :pottytrain2:
How about "toile de camouflage"??? :book:

I discussed this helmet with Tony the last time it was ebay. It took me a while to find the eagle problem as well... Tony caught it right away. My thought on it is that if you want a nice looking fake, this would be a good choice. It's hard to tell from photos what's original and what's fake, but it may be an original shell at least. I agree, everything else may be repro items (like the star studs)
In the end, I decided to save my money for another authentic helmet, rather than this.
It is pretty looking though. Fun for Halloween parties... that was my thought...

Honestly, this looks to me (based on the photos) to be an original infantry officer's Pickelhaube that some idiot nailed a replica IR92 Totenkopf onto in an effort to make a huge profit. But in reality, just destroyed what looks like "was" a nice officer line eagle Wappen.
