IR91 Oldenburg Pickelhaube

Hi everyone....
so...here I am, as always, taking advantage of your patience and knowledge of the subject.
For a few days I had been evaluating an Oldenburg infantry pickelhaube (IR91) which has some particularities that I know very little about, so, in previous "threads" I had already asked for clarifications on this matter.
Now I think it's best to submit it to you in its entirety so we can discuss it better.
As mentioned, we are talking about a model 95 Oldenburg,of the IR91 and it certainly belongs to this regiment as marked onthe rear flap.
Now my questions are these:
1) the eagle is a model 1871 with screw/nut attachments, but from what I read here should we have different attachments.... or can these work too?
2)The "star" seems ok to me (model 95 as it has rounded tips), the front shield, with two rear screws, seems to be made of another alloy but I don't know which one.......I'll also post photos of the back.
3)The Oldenburg cockade....it seems fine to me but while the Reich one is certainly ok...this one seems not very patinated...(if it helps, no reaction to UV light.).
I have already posted the chinstrap attachments which appears to be repaired from the period and I have already solved the problem of the eagle which does not touch completely the body and is positioned higher touching the base ofthe spike.
Forgive me if I fill you with photos... but in this way I think you can give a more precise answers and opinions..... and I will have clearer ideas.
Thanks again and all my best fromTurin
Giorgio

I believe the Oldenburg crest is a poorly made cast metal copy. The details are of low quality on the Oldenburg crest or wappen, especially on the back side. Notice the crown and lack of details on it, and the poor quality of detail on the shield. Your crest is not die struck thinner metal as it should be it it were an original. By all appearances from your excellent photos the Oldenburg crest or wappen appears to be thicker metal, made by the casting method. The screws are not German screws on the back side of the Oldenburg Crest.

See what others have for an opinion about it. I think they will probably agree that this Oldenburg Crest or wappen is a cast copy.

Best Wishes,

Alan

Really thanks for your kind answers Alan and Amy Bellars....
I admit that I had some doubts but since I'm at the beginning, always ask those who are more experienced.....
No problems....it won't go into the collection and will wait for a better haube....:):)
In order to learn more....what do you think about the Oldenburg kokade?

Regards
Giorgio

Hello,
I agree with Alan and Amy. The roundels are 0K, the colour of the blue is correct. The regimental marking is 0K. Yes, the eagle is an M71, but that's not prohibitive (how are the fixings?). When you buy this kind of helmet, which is specific and rare, you have to worry above all about the provincial emblem, which is what makes it so valuable.
It's on this point that speculators act to swindle.
Electroplating is virtually undetectable from the front. You absolutely must have access to the reverse to appreciate it. The details on the front must be identical to those on the back.
