IR92

Hello,
I noticed this IR92 helmet was unsold in the recent Hermann Historica auction. Is there something wrong with this helmet that I am missing? Nothing about it seems off to me.

Two things come to mind……the spike seems too tall for an issued helmet. It is more the type of spike one would see on a private purchase helmet. The piece also has no kokarden and an original JR 92 kokarde would be hard to find.

I find that the marking IR 92 was touched up.

The marking doesn't look like the others I know for these years, it is R 92

I have owned this helmet for many years.
I am pretty sure that it has Kammer issue stamps
I have not had it off of the shelf in years
Maybe I can give it a look and take a photo
of the issue stamps .
