Is it possible that both these helmets belonged to the same colonel of the Hanoverian army?

Basically, I THINK the one on the left belonged to a Hanoverian Colonel and MAYBE the one on the right was his earlier helmet? Or someone else entirely. Am I making sense? Maybe neither one is right for a Hanoverian colonel, then again maybe he's a Hanoverian captain and not made it to colonel yet.

Just curious why you think they are for same man, are they named? Left is a Standard Prussian officer, while one on the right is for Enlisted OR Garde helmet?

I typed out this very long and detailed reply but felt so awkward that I just canceled that and have to say it's a private matter for now because I'm on the verge of a huge come up and don't want my blabber mouth to ruin it like it does everything in life so far. But yes, named helmets of Hanoverian colonels are involved. lol.

I promise to be back with all sorts of ancient history I uncovered and relics and Nazi astrology level type shii but I got to just get thru the storm first.

Here is a picture I made showing some original items from the man...

Yes give us some background to your thoughts. Rob
I did decide to purchase the new helmet (on the left) because the seller is trustworthy and because from what I know it's a helmet that a colonel would have maybe worn, like if it's believable that a Hanover colonel or captain might have worn it then that's good enough for me to believe it because I combine that with my knowledge of the seller and his source and my past purchases etc. So, I paid $2k for it and when I prove who it belonged to pretty soon you will see I did good.

I always try to buy an item not the story.

Stories are forgotten and lost over time and sometimes we are only left with the items and for me the item must stand alone on its own merit.

I hope it all turns out for you, I'm very interested in seeing where this will go. (y)

Nice set of swords! Congratulations on winning them! You wanted them a little more than I did. 😂

From the set of items that were offered in that sale I am guessing he was an officer in the Hanoverian Army prior to 1866, then became an officer in the Prussian Army after Langensalza. (the set included a Langensalza medal and a Franco-Prussian war medal). Of the 4 swords, I think the 2 on the left are from his time in the Hanoverian army and the 2 on the right from his time in the Prussian Army. Does the 2nd one from the left have the GRV cypher on the guard?

All the officers' helmets were identical. There was nothing to distinguish rank. Here, the curved chinstrap, if it is original, shows a Train officer.
As for the stern-guard on the right, I have serious doubts about its authenticity, given this photo.
And I even have major doubts about the authenticity of the Prussian officer's helmet. I don't like the spike base, which looks like a reproduction.
It is imperative to have other photos, rear view, underneath with the headdress etc...
Me, on these photographs, I reject the one like the other !!!
The Gardist on the right is a complete “fake”.
The officer on the left needs to be examined carefully, from every angle, because I don't like what I see in this photo alone.

For my part, I only buy a helmet if I can track the wearer and his military career before I purchase it. Today, there are a lot of possibilities to make such research.

Concerning both helmets presented here, I would like to see more picts, but I´m afraid to say, they won´t do the thing better

Mistakes were made lol. But I'm not 100% certain of that yet. Even if the helmets were an add on by the seller and not from the family, I still got a sweet deal.

The person above is right on all fronts.

I'm agreeing with you so far but even if I got taken for a ride on the helmets I still made out like a bandit. Plus I still think they are legit but just Frankenstein perhaps? Some parts are legit you can just tell. Like it says KBAG stamped in the small sized one that can't even fit on a man's head.... but the officer one fit me perfectly so if nothing else I can wear it around town and look cool. If this thing is fake, then I'll wear tf out of it. It's nice looking/feeling.

my max bid was $3700 and I won it for $2100.... Yeah, u could say I wanted it more than most anyone on earth. The reason was because I did poor research and actually thought they were long lost items belonging to Herman Kellner II the last leader of the Detmold army but what it turned out to be is just as good if not better. So, my gut telling me it was important was correct. Things like the belt buckle not being findable except for one in Aukland Museum belonging to Wynyard... if I can't find something it must be rare and to this day, I can't appraise that buckle. never seen one with a price tag. I thought the "II" on the shoulder boards meant Herman Kellner II and that was his saber lol. I still have a grand story to tell but before I say anything negative about anyone (which I will still try to avoid) let's just confirm these are bogus helmets. Maybe Russel, the last living family member, added them or maybe Hermann did. I was told that the officer one is a replacement for ceremonial purposes and not his one from Langensalza. I was also able to buy some missing medals from Russel instead of the consignment company because he withheld them due to his family having to pay the German army for them. Still missing is the order of oak in gold but I did not know it existed when I talked to Russ so if I can get him on the phone again, I'll ask about it. I did background checks on them to find his number and he told me to go to the consignment people for future needs. Luxemburg could just be stricter about that policy or maybe it was too expensive to afford. I managed to get the rest of them though minus the ribbons. All the ribbons are torn to shit from being sewn to the uniform and subsequently removed. I might buy replacement ribbons. At first calling him was awkward but he was so moved by my knowledge of his family that he suddenly felt like passing them down to me, but I paid him a grand anyways. I plan on showing people the provenance so I don't want to speak badly of the consignment company that may or may not have hustled me on the helmets. I have an invoice and receipt for the $6k I spent with them directly and If people reach out to them, I don't want them to lie about something to make me look bad. Unfortunately, when I mentioned my feelings about the helmet we got into a fight, and I got so mad that I gave them negative feedback for the 2nd order. But I think we can work it out because I still want to buy stuff, and they were asking for it by insulting me in the heat of the moment. I assume they are irritated by how valuable this stuff is and that they made such a mistake. One medal is worth more than $2300 alone (named legion of honor in gold) and one sword is over $2700 alone (Colonel Goetze' original saber!) ....it's crazy. We both went overboard because of pent up frustration but we really are kind of friends I mean we bonded.

more pictures and information to come because I'm very close to concluding all my business with these people in which case I'll reveal everything but still in a polite way that shifts blame away from any one individual. Russel is 84 years old so it could just be dementia that's to blame and not the consignment guy so yeah. I wasn't even busting their balls about it I was pissed that they are forcing me to wait long periods of time to buy what they claim to want to sell me. They dragged it out this whole time while increasing the price of the items. Oh, and the latest eBay order was missing some stuff we agreed on, but I had to buy it for $500 anyways given the situation. So, I'm not a bad person I was just unable to withstand the disrespect and same goes for them. But they started it by getting mad when I complained even a tiny bit. When I say "them" I don't mean Russel I mean only the consignment guy and his crew. If he reads this, just know it's water under the bridge and if the helmets are bogus, I'm not pointing any fingers and will just chalk it up to bad luck. I will describe them truthfully when I sell it or exclude them if I have to. Besides that, dude SELL ME THE ASTROLOGY DOCUMENTS MAN C'MON. Them Nazi's be drawing transgender devils and the rings of Saturn and shit and I needs to know these secrets of the universe!

if someone could try and translate that would be very helpful. don't know where else to turn. Probably show pictures of it to AI chat bots and figure some words out that way. Next, I just like to make my bad artwork for fun ok. Look at the names involved in this collection tho. that ink blot that looks like double eagle head insignia is hella savage, but I wasn't gonna be fake over some cool stuff if u disrespect me we gonna blaze. Eduard Marx is missing from the names tho can't forget him he's a lesser known general in NSDAP. This stuff is fire but it's a mixed bag not all of it is Prussian or even militaria. There is artwork and microscopes, eyeglasses, iron cross collectibles and just a few photos each one so damn rare. probably the only images of these people. oh I forgot to say that the seller can negative my oldest account or any account he wants even the one I'm planning to use to sell the lot which is in my name like the username is my real name. I literally don't care about trivial stuff and wish them to be forgiving since it takes two to tango and we both want to make money.

Not sure on the value of the other things you say since a lot of the asserted value comes from a story that I can't see the clear evidence of, but the garde helmet is fake. People put fake stamps on them quote often. The other one probably looks okay, but I cannot be sure all the hardware is original to the shell.

Either way, if you're happy with it, I hope you enjoy it. At least for myself, I am less concerned with the price or money making potential. I am more interested in the item itself.
