Is there something strange about the wappen?

I am no expert, but I am going out on a limb and state that the wappen is definitely not original to this pickelhaube. It would be nice to see the back of this wappen. That is jjust my two cents.
 
I would say that the plate still retains its original other ranks type of gilding and that it MAY not be original to the helmet. However, the gilding will protect the plate better than bare parts, so it is possible for this to look like this, but not very common because people tend to clean up the helmet a bit. What do others think?

It looks like the helmet is made of a mixture of M95 brass (front visor trim + wappen; the latter being too 'clean'/flashy for my taste) and M15 steel (spike, spike base, posts, chinstrap metal parts) fittings... unless the latter are very dirty/oxydated brass parts which looks like gray steel?
 
Complete crap in my opinion. Not worth a bid, unless you are interested in a helmet for parts.
