Without VERY close inspection of both sides of this wappen and shell I would warn caution. Lots of pictures but not of the key areas.

 

[Lost Skeleton]

This seller has auctioned several interesting helmets in recent months. Although I have never been able to fault what I see in his pictures, I never see as much as I would like. Call me a skeptic, but were I dealing in this high end stuff, I would go out of my way to provide the detailed shots Joe mentions. After all, the more convinced a bidder is, the more likely he'll bid higher.

Thüringian ducal crests generally photograph brighter and cleaner than they actually appear. It often amazes me how tarnish "evaporates" when exposed by flash photography.

The only oddity I see (operative word, see) is the Reserve cross being submerged by the star. The eBay helmet is IR 95. Below is the configuration on my Reserve IR 94.
