Is this artillery worth attention?

Dear Gentlemen,
is this helmet generally ok?

A question from a novice who is still learning from Your knowledge.

And thank you very much for that.

nice looking helmet, it is a wartime piece as we call it, due to the mix of metal parts. The pieces where as the finish has gone are zinc which tended with time to loose its gilt.

the chinscales have been removed and put on wrong at some point, should be Kokarden closest to the helmet shell, then chinscales with rosettes on outside.

Nice looking piece that would be a great part of any collection, and I would leave as is IMO other then fixing chinscale order as mentioned above.

To me, it seems to be a late 1915 officer helmet, which has lost its finishing on the scales, spike fittings. This is seen very often, due to the materials used. Scarcety of materials, led to finishings of helmets can be lost easily.

I agree totally with what James has said...a wartime manufactured helmet with mostly zinc fittings. This was done due to a shortage of brass by this year of the war. I would also add, that this is a foot artillery helmet due to the flat chin scales. A feld artillery officer helmet would have convex (curved) chin scales and rosettes. These helmets are perfectly original and legitimate but most collectors prefer the ones with all brass fittings.

I ditto the 3 above comments
