Wow! Great pic. She certainly epitomizes the Victorian style of the "drawn waist". I wonder how many maids were needed to pull on those corset laces! I talk about this "style" to my students, when I teach my unit on Turn of the Century Canada. I would love to have a pic like that to pass around the class room. Brian

I do not think the pic is doctored and that figure would be more than likely the years of the undergarment that she probably wore from her teens. Look's like torture . I have seen Indian War frock coat with the same size waist.
