Hi guys, as I wrote in the message introducing myself, basically am a uniforms researcher. Right now I´m studying the Joppe style tunics and would like to start a topic on this posting the most used type before the war:

fotoforumw.jpg

Double breast, 5 buttons on each line, two lateral pockets, usually blue coloured, with or without shoulder straps.
Studyind hundreds of original photos (most of them posted on Flickr and part of great collections of a couple of members of this forum), I found this variant of blouse dressed by:

2. Infanterie Bde Btl ¨Landau¨
Kgl. bayerische Landsturm Infanterie Btl ¨Rosenheim¨
Bayerische Landsturm Btl II 5 or II 13
some Bavarian ersatz Btl (not identified)

Should be very interesting to hear something more from you guys

There was also I version with only one line of five buttons. Is pictured in the 'Uniforms & Equipment of the Imperial German Army 1900-1918: A Study in Period Photographs' Charles Woolley.

The version with only one line of five buttons, and the deep collar makes it look very much like a WW1 Turkish tunic.

I had one of these, years ago buy was convinced by an EXPERT that it was Swedish, so I should get rid of it, which I did.

Hi, yes I know, there were many variants of Joppe tunics, but let´s try to comment just this type of joppe in this topic. I will post other variants in the next few days
