Just a nice and simple Luger

Got this as a self birthday gift several months ago. Not several hours after turning 21 I made my way to the gun store to fill out the paperwork.

It’s a 1918 DWM example with most of the bluing still there. Non matching magazine. Took it out for a spin and it shoots beautifully as expected.

Very nice Imperial Luger!

For some reason I could never shoot a Luger, even my Artillery Lugers worth a damn, couldn’t hit the ocean from a rowboat. Something to do with the grip angle and trigger I think.

I could always do pretty well with a 1911 though.

They always say in documentaries that the grip angle was perfect for shooters but I don’t get it. Shot the first 100 rounds one handed and couldn’t hit Jack at 10 yards. The moment I switched to a modern stance I hit dead center at 15 yards
