Just a pickelhaube picture

It's a cold, snowy day here and after seeing Tony's beautifully updated
pictures, I thought I would give a try at photographing mine.

My hats off to Tony---------It's not as easy as I thought it would be.
Here is my half hearted effort.

Thanks Greg. It really is just technique much more than talent. You said it was snowing, so you took the photo inside with a flash I assume? I will only take my photos outside, in natural light, on a bright but overcast day. Chas does it the same way, as does Roy and R1 and others. Next day it is like this, try taking a few more photos of your helmet to experiment. There is a thread on this HERE worth a read, I no longer take mine on a pole, but as I explained above.

Some like helmets on black like you have done, I prefer on a grey sheet of artist board curved up against the house, so there is no edge visible. But the daylight defused by cloud in my opinion, makes a huge difference.

Yes I did take it inside using a light tent and spot lights. No flash.
But basicly the same idea.
