These are very easy to pick up, these were typically worn by ex-servicemen who had been discharged for one reason or another, this would be worn to show that this former soldier/sailor had "done his bit" by serving at the front. Note the penalty for mis-use $500 or 6 months in jail. The one on the left was issued to a Canadian, but was typically British, New Zealand, Canadian, Australian. There would be a letter stamping showing which nationality before the serial number.

Pretty interesting awards.
