Hey,

after stumbling across this forum i just had to register,
great threads all around I'm learning every day i visit, and get to see rare Pieces !!

And I've seen that some of you are interested in Austro-Hungarian Militaria to which is great because of my following questions.

Now would be my question to some of you who have an Austro-hungarian Feldbuse and or Feldhose for enlisted mans Hechtgrau or Feldgrau, to post pictures of it with a measuring tape or some kind of scale next to it ?

I'm trying to make one of these for myself but can't seem to get the sizes and pattern right, I've got some resources and books on the subject but they never give you measurements which is quite frustrating.

I'm sorry that I'm quote demanding but i just had to try my luck,
Many thanks in advance if someone could provide this !!

Cheers,
Vergeldt

Wow, if someone has that stuff, I would like to see it too, especially the trousers. I have a gray tunic, which looks to me to be more of a dress tunic than a field one. I'm fairly certain that it is not a 1930's piece.

Anyway, it would be most interesting to see some issue type items if anyone has them.

Yeah, well that's the problem I have seen a few for sale but way out of my comfort zone price wise, so i will not be able to obtain one myself.

I Do have a lot of pictures and some books on the subject and one Really great book that tells of all the different styles of tunic and equiptment pieces used by the K.u.k. Heer, but sadly they never mention Sizes.

However i have found another book: Adjustierungsvorschrift für das k.u.k. Heer 1910/1911

that handles with this becasue that piece is he regulation manual for all troops on how to dress in the field. but i havent got that one yet I will try to obtain that book see how it goes.

In the meanwhile Would you be willing to share any pictures of your Tunic ? maybe we coud find out more about it here?

Cheers,

I have a couple of Austrian tunics, but getting tim to re photo them with measurments is the problem, we are at a busy time on the farm right now.

This tunic was found in the atic af a friend's house in Upper Austria, the Kappe was in the inside pocket, and the water bottle and ammp pouches were with it, the trousers are from a costume warehouse and are not original.

The tunic and trousers came out of Czech Republic some time ago.

Wow !!

You've got 2 pairs?
lucky bastard, from the attic really was that long ago ?
because when I was in Austria an tried to ask people about the war they tend to skip the subject an talk about something else even more so about Ww2, anyway nice tunics. specially the second one.

I do hope you get some time to re-picture them soon, but i guess may is a busy month at the farm. over here we have the problem that it hasn't rained any decent amount for more than 2 months. we constantly have to rain mechanically with the diesel pump.

but thanks for sharing,

Hello Vergelt,
The first tunic was acquired in 1972, I helped clean the attic when I was visiting, and the owner of the house handed it to me ans told me to put it in the garbage, I protested, and said I would like to have it, he said "no, it was in bad condition" but I held firm, and when he let me keep it, he then looked for the other items as well as a number of letters and post cards written to the owner of the tunic (his father-in-law)

wow Great story, but the fact that he was just going to throw it away is less great, nice that you took it, and judging by the picture it aint in to bad shape actually.

well if anyone is still interested in measurements and such i am awaiting a delivery of some books (original an reprint) that explain this.
so I'll just try post my finds here for other wannabe truppensadlers ;) .
