2nd Leib Husaren ;
Many thanks for your interest .
Ever since I got this in a few days ago I wanted to see if I could I D
the Saxon M G -Abt. that won it . So you inspired me to see what I could find out .
I had assumed it was won by Saxon M G -Abt. 8 , the only Saxon M G unit listed in Laine as of 1914
However I got my print out of what units won the Kaiser and Kings prizes .
I found there were 2 other Saxon M G -Abt.
Saxon M G -Abt. Nr. 12 was assigned to Schutzen Regt 108 ; they won the Kings Prize 1905 ; 1907 and 1909
all by 1.Kp.
since the Saxon M G Kings prize was only won one time in 1909 ; Schutzen Regt. 108 was the winner of the Saxon
M G Kings prize that I have
the other Saxon M G Abt. was
Saxon M G -Abt. 19 was assigned to 8. Inf. Regt. Nr. 107 ; between 1903 and 1913 they won the M G prize
only one time in 1911 by 2.Kp.
so the Saxon M G Kings prize was only won a total of 4 times between 1903 to 1913
If someone out there can bring me up to speed as to how many Kp. were in an M G - Abt.
then how many men would be in a single Kp. I could then have an idea of how many prizes were won
I have a Prussian M G Kaiser Prize for 1911 which was won by the 2nd Garde M G - Abt.
