I just got this in today .
This helmet came from the old-time collection of Bill Stevens
This helmet along with many others of the Stevens collection
was the basis for the book on spiked helmets by Eric. J.
I was surprised that it surfaced after all of these years
I have 2 different styles of this miter
The Garde Star sometimes has an orange enameled center
and there is also this style
I understand that a miter with the enameled center sold at the last Max show

It's amazing how they are still like that after all this time, it's unbelievable, although I don't know anything about it, I still think it's a beautiful piece, you don't see it very often here.
 
A stunning and exquisite piece of headgear! The workmanship on that Gardes star is absolutely stellar.

It couldn't be in a better home.

It's a beautiful piece that alone would brighten up any collection.
And what's more, it has a history documented by a prestigious collection.

Back in the 1970's I bought my first KAGGR#1 officers miter
from a collector in Chicago. A t that time I paid $2,000 for it
They since have gone up in selling price.
It was then and still remains my #1 favorite helmet
