Hello Collectors!

I'm Kammi from the middle of Germany. I collect for arround 15 years now. My main focus is the 12th Battle of the Isonzo 1917. For that battle Austro-Hungarian and Germany Army set up the combined 14th Army. I collect everything arround this battle, but on task for me is to get a strap or board of every (german) unit of that army. Some of them are easy to get some are a hard nuts, specially the Jäger units that belonged to the german Jäger Division.

I saw all your outstanding straps and boards, so i would like to share mine, too. You guys have awsome collections by the way! I hope all the specialists are still active here, as i never found a forum before where so many insignia lovers come together. So i would love to hear your opinions!

So lets start with the Jägers!

Here we have a pair of boards for a Leutnat serving with the bavarian 1st Jäger Bataillon. Unfortunatley one metal Number 1 is missing and i am still searching for a replacement.

Best wishes!

Kammi

M15 Straps for a Jäger in the 2nd bavarian Jäger Bataillon or Reserve Jäger Bataillon. The are sadly not a matching pair, but you can not complain about it on such rare straps.

Hello Steve!

Thanks for your answer! Yes i decided to collect all wartime pieces. The battle was in Oktober 1917, so the M15 versions would be the more fitting ones but i think on such project you can not be piky. Especially the Minenwerfer, Pioniere and Jäger are so rare that there is a very low chance to find them all. Nowdays even here in germany its hard to find straps and boards on the markets. I go every weekend and you can still find equipment, pickelhauben and medals (on high prices), but cloth pieces like caps, straps, uniforms are very rare to find. I dont like buying on fairs or on the internet. I like the pieces that come from old houses and so on, but those times seem to be over soon. Also the condition of pieces which are found today is mostly bad. Soon i will have to change my way of collecting and focus on internet platforms and trades with other collectors.

How ever i am missing a lot of units. Here is a picture of my pocket list for markets with the main units of the 14th Army.

A detailed order of battle you can find on my website project, the units written in old german letters are the germans the others are austro-hungarian units:

Thanks and best wishes!

Andi

Quite a list to tackle and I admire you for your effort.
There seems to be a large interest in collecting shoulder straps
right now.
I don't know if you knew the collector here in the USA named Chip Minx ?
He was one of the main strap collectors over here .
He passed away a couple of years ago
His son's kept his Feldgrau M1915 Infantry display / collection
The rest of his collection was purchased by Advance Guard Military
They have been sitting on the collection for some time now.
I was told some of it was finally on display at our S O S show this past Feb
It was not for sale , but shown because it will go up for auction
I don't know if there are straps on your want list, but it might be worth
your while to check it out
Also a couple of years ago the program for the S O S had a photo of a lot of the straps
shown on the cover.
Here are a few photos sent to me by a collector friend who was at the show
