KBAG 1916 Feldmütze

Just added this to my collection. I am seriously debating adding the Reichskokarde for a restoration since the original red lozenge remains while the cockade is lost. While I would prefer Bavarian, the KBAG marking makes up for that. This makes two--the other is maker marked with BAXVIII.

The place where the cocarde is missing is this for the reichscocarde ,so i am a bit confused why you mention bavaria
The stamp inside is KBAG. This means kriegs bekleidungs ambt garde

Otherwise this is a nice kratchen

I mean I would prefer to find Bavarian, as that is the focus of my collecting. But yes, this is a fine Krätzchen.

I am pondering restoring the Reichskokarde, since I am well pleased the red wool remains on the cap, and feel it almost a shame to cover that.
I have half a dozen originals fairly split between Bavarian and Prussian, but all seem to have had cockades re-sewn.

Thank you for your comments.
