Than you Joe!!!

By the way, there are two other regimental stamps on the same M95 helmet I am owning, which are classed in the wrong unit on your list...

After a long discussion and comparison with similar helmets on a french forum, it got clear that this marking is JR143 and not JR148. The canceled marking on the right side of back visor is also not 2B.LJR99 but 2B.LJR60 (second unit after JR143). Then the helmet came to the II/LJR99 (left side of neckguard). It´s all logical, because all those three units (JR143, LJR60 and LJR99) were alsacian. West prussian JR148 was quite far away....

As the "Busch, Formationsgeschichte" says:

Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 60 (Nur zwei Bataillone)
Aufgestellt in Weißenburg (R.Stb., I.) und Saargemünd (II.)
Unterstellung: 60. gem. L.Brig.
Kommandeur:
I.: Oberstleutnant z. D. Müller (Bez.-Kdr. Hagenau)
II.: Oberstleutnant z. D. Fiedler (Bez.-Kdr. Saargemünd)

Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 99 (Vier Bataillone)

Aufgestellt in Straßburg (R.Stb., I.), Zabern (II.), Schlettstadt (III.) und Neubreisach (IV.)
Unterstellung: 60. gem. L.Brig.
Kommandeur: Oberstleutnant Grall (I.R.Nr. 136)
I.: Major Bork (I.R.Nr. 136)
II.: Major v. Kühn (I.R.Nr. 143)
III.: Major v. Bessel (I.R.Nr. 132)
IV.: Major Schüler (I.R.Nr. 172)

Past years, I also could purchase a couple of helmets which regimental stamps are not in your list or are a bit different. I post the markings below. Joe, just feel free to add or complete them on your list as you wish!

need to look at this one 143/148 thing.

Joe, some very identical markings on the helmet of a french friend. Same place and same date too (1906). One can clearly see that on my helmet, the "3" in the JR143 has got too much ink, letting looking it like a "8". Pretty hard to stamp at this place, juste near the back trim nut.

Great markings, there is nothing like a well marked helmet to tell the story of where it has been. :thumb up:
