It's like the descriptions for swords--"officer sword" and "rare" seem to show up a lot.

How is the spike fixed to the body?

It has a flange on the underside to hold the spikebase to the dome.
The domed rivets/brads are just pressed out bulges to simulate the typical fasteners.
