Christmas came early this year as my beautiful wife, Donna, presented me with the following item which she recently acquired from eBay. It may not be a Lachmann, but it is nonetheless impressive: a Schulz & Holdefleiss M15 Kürassier.
The helmet is immaculate and everything is original. What is truly amazing is the gargantuan size:
This is the first helmet to come into my possession that actually fits my head. My being 6' 4-1/2" tall (1.94M) also provides some insight as to the stature of the Kürassier who wore this originally.
What strikes me as equally amazing is Donna was the only bidder and the auction was in Canadian Dollars. It's great to be lucky once in a blue moon.
