Silver rosettes...and on an issued helmet with the ringed Kokarden ?

How is RBA 18 connected to field artillery?
:-k

Funny how a simple typo changes the meaning of the word! Of course, you could wear it in your Kugelwagen. :)

Isn't Bekleidungs (clothing) a supply unit? I dunno. :-k Unless he has the abbreviation wrong... maybe rail artillery (armored trains)???????? Reichsbahn Arty... ?????????????? Just a thought. Don't know if there were even any units like that. If that were so, then that might explain the silver chin scale rosette. If not, then I'd say it's probably a put-together helmet and who knows where it came from.

I beleive this seller is named Mark (?) if so, a very good guy. His listing states no doubt in my mind what he believes to be completely accurate.

Okay, so what about the markings? Do they make sense or is there a railroad unit of some sort? I think it's a very interesting riddle, but I can't answer it.

The marking is fine. RBA18=Reserve Bekleidungsamt Armee Korps 18
There was no active BKA for that Army Corps.
This picture is from our list:

It seems as though only the BJA for Army Corps XVIII used Roman numerals.
