A few weeks ago I saw at an antique shop a steel helmet with the steel trim on edges but it had a brass eagle and brass spike and all the parts looked old to the helmet..
From what I have been able to learn on some of the sites I've seen on the web the early brass edged trimed helmets had brass eagles and brass spikes and the later steel edge trimed helmets had the steel eagles and steel spikes.
Was this helmet a marrage or was it posible to have this combination of brass and steel parts on one of these?
