Kurassier helmet

This sold for very little, presumably because it's a fake. I don't know much about them, so what are the signs? The spike and base seem to be in brass, and the chinstrap is brown, both of which rang warning bells. Cockade looks very big?

Not a fake Patrick. A 1915 model, seemingly in good condition, fitted with an earlier model spike. A good deal at this price if you have the correct spike to add (I do...).

Thanks. I saw it shortly before it ended, but thought it was too good to be true. Ah well, the price might well have escalated if I'd joined in the bidding!
