Offered for sale is a hard to find on the loose Spike for a Kurassier or Jaeger zu Pferde Officer Helmet.

The spike is in good condition. It appears to have a gold color wash or old paint surface to it, which seems to look different from the finish I would expect to see on one of these Cavalry Officer Spikes.

One side of the bottom edge of the Hexagonal fluting has a slight dent to it, as seen in photos. The fluting above the bottom edge is Not Dented.

A rare spike to find on the loose, if your helmet is missing one.

Thanks for asking. It appears to be white metal. The gold paint is worn only slightly at the edges of the vertical fluting on the spike, and at the very tip. I don't think that there is any silver color finish on the metal in these exposed areas that I am referring to. I hope this makes sense.
