Lacquer seal late 18th/19th century?

I do not know the country it came from.Probably the owner of the item served in the army and wore a seal around his neck.

The item was dug out of the ground.You may be right John,as the French army passed through my place of residence twice.Regards and thank you for your feedback

The quality isn’t very fine, that’s why I think it is not a professional seal. For me it looks like trench-art from a soldier of a German artillery-reg. The lines on the flags are horizontal (like german Empire), for French flags they should be vertical.
