Hi,
Already on hold after a few seconds online...

Already found it in the Verlustlisten, deceased 16.11.1914 in a Lazarett in Hanau, probably from illness. This guy promoted to Vizefelwebel in the Reserve and was mobilized August 1914 at the Eisenbahn-Bau-Kompanie 26, formed from the 2K of the Eisenbahn Bataillon 4.

Some member here got it?

Philippe

Philippe, thank you for the info.

I bought last month a very similar one, tracked ad traced too.

From the Eisenbahn Betriebsabteilung (BA) Berlin-Schöneberg.

Wearer, Sergeant (Paul) Ernst (Gottlieb) Albrecht, born 21.02.1887, not a OYV and not an EM was actively engaged in the army for 12 years and was mobilized August 1914 at the Eisenbahn-Bau-Kompanie 13 (formed from the 5K ER2 in Hanau).

He also promoted to Vizefeldwebel and deceased after an accident shortly before the end of the war...

He has been lightly been wounded at the beginning of the war near Montmedy, during the repair of a destroyed railway, possibly by Francs-tireurs...

Well done, Amy.
It took me a long time to make out the BA marking. It is actually Philippe who helped me to decipher the acronym. The helmet below is in a virtually new condition, but unfortunately anonymous. Philippe, do you know if Kompanie 1 was stationed at a particular location? Congratulations on your new acquisition.

A bunch of white Garde helmets! I really like them!

Bruno, the 4 companies of the Betriebsabteilung der Militär-Eisenbahn were all stationed in Berlin-Schöneberg.
As war was declared, the guys of this small unit were incorporated in the different Eisenbahn-Bau-Kompanien.
Those were numerated as follow:

1K ER1 ---> EBK1
2K ER2 ---> EBK2

and so on with the 8 companies of each 3 Eisenbahnregiment (1-3) and the 4 companies of the Eisenbahn Bataillon 4.

4K EB4 ----> EBK 28

John, ha ha, don't let your imagination runs too wild.
Pete, I am working towards a quartermaster store.
Gino, yes, 1 out of 8, I can live with that.
Douglas, pics for the next shelf below are here. I know some of you will feel the pain of stacking one helmet on top of another, I feel that too, but I don't have the luxury of space. Otherwise, I would have to lay them out on my bed as well. 20251028_122125.jpg20251028_122112.jpg20251028_122049.jpg20251028_122033.jpg
