Leib-Kürassier Cuirass

While not a Pickelhaube I thought this "Latest Find" (from the SOS) would be of interest.

A Leib-Kürassier cuirass front plate with emblem, well marked on the wearer's left side with "K. 1., etc", "FWR etc" on the shoulder and "26" on the lower interior but also stamped on the right side as an export from the famous Berlin theater requisite and costume house "Leopold Verch Charlottenburg" .

I have had some inquiries about selling the cuirass. What is a realistic price for it? Thanks!

No Beschußdelle/Probeschuß....? So...never tested by the Military Administration. ??Possibly?? Sold by the manufacturer directly to the Berlin theater requisite and costume house "Leopold Verch Charlottenburg"?. -Because all OR Kuraß breasts were tested! Except for the GdC Schwarze Other Ranks pieces.

I doubt the manufacturer sold directly to the theater requisite house. The cuirass has "K. 1" and "FWR" Abnahme stamps, etc.

Can you tell me what the exact weight is of this complete breast? Thank you!

I have a question, why would it say "Made in Germany" in English?
I was wondering that too. My personal theory is that similar to some WW2 German things, it was marked that for a western surplus market, primarily in the United States. However if anyone else had a better explanation, I'd be interested to hear it.

On August 23, 1887, the English Parliament passed the Merchandise Marks Act 1887. This stipulated that the country of origin must be clearly stated on goods. Imported goods became recognizable to everyone.

So would that be to say, that the plate was sent to Britain, maybe post war as Surplus?
