Picked up at an antique show this weekend. Brass OR Prussian Pickelhaube line eagle plate without "Fur Gott, etc " bandeau. Has brass cross set into breast with the motto..."Mit Gott Fur Koenig und Vaterland". One screw post with squared nut remaining on back. Is this a Landweher plate rather than a reservist plate? Thanks.

Like the one below? If its ORs, you'll never know George. This issued Wappen is for a Reserve or Landwehr Regiment. The Reserve carried the cross from 1808 on, the Landwehr adopted the Pickelhaube in 1842, and from that year on, (except 1860 -1881 when they wore a Tschako) they wore the same eagle Wappen as the Reserve.

Its the officer's who have a different eagle Wappen for Landwehr and Reserve.

Thanks Tony. The plate is just as the one you show except that the cross has no silver to it. If anyone needs it let me know I simply bought it because it was there and I was bored.
