I'm not at all concerned with the dome stud but I would very much like to see these depot marks. Also, this is an East West mounting of a helmet from Hessia. So would be nice to see the back of the helmet plate. Aren't I paranoid?

I am not sure what you guys mean by "East West "? Do you mean horizontal vs. diagonal?
I have owned three pre-1915 Hessens, all with horizontal posts. I have only ever seen one photo of a Hessen Wappen with diagonal posts, and that was, if I recall, courtesy of you Joe?

Yes my confusing nomenclature.
I have seen mostly issue horizontal, 2 issue diagonal, and private purchase all three ways. Mine is Verticle or North South. So just
drives me nuts. Do issue Hessians have dragoon lugs on the back spine?
Laine does not show it.
