M15 Artillery shoulder board help

I was hoping someone could let me know more about this Foot Artillery board number. I've recently been told it could stand for "Ammunition Column No. 327".

I don't have a problem with the originality of the boards, but have always wondered at the high number.

The tunic will offer no clues as the boards aren't original to it. I previously posted a thread on it:

Hi Hans, I have the chart that shows all the 'gun' units of the Ehrenbuch der Fußartillerie and this unit is not listed. Unfortunately, I only have the charts, not the book itself. The book, I believe, will tell you what they were.

There is a pretty good thread regarding Der Alte Armee Artillerie going on over a the Great War Forum, and Paul, Cnock & Andi seem to be very knowledgeable regarding Fussartillerie, you might try posting your question there. Here is a link ot that thread:

I posted a question on Great War Forum regarding these shoulderboards and this answer is from GWF member Paul Hederer:

Fußart.-Bttr. Nr. 327, formed 1.7.1915 VIRK, 5AOK. Initially armed with s. 12 cm K's. Later became 1./FußaBatl. 64. That's from files from the Stuttgart archives.


I wasn't aware batteries had seperate shoulder insignia (?)
