Great grey arty !!

I saw this on ebay and a lot of people wanted it .

67 bids and the price went through the roof !!!!

That ventless spine makes all of the difference in the world.

You are lucky to have won it but you paid dearly.

That is a beauty and I have never seen an M15 with no vent on the spine. Excellent condition and great markings, you can't take your money with you when you croak so why not spend it? Live life to the fullest while you can still see your helmets!! :thumb up:

Very wise words there Brian , and thank you gentlemen.

It is indeed a rare bird ,it is mentioned in books but I don’t know any who can show an example .

Wow, that is a very rare helmet!!! \:D/ =D>

Congratulations Ed, and thank you for posting it for us to see! :bravo:

As Brian said about the non-vented backspine, it is the first time for me also that I have seen one like this. Absolutely fantastic!

Best Regards,

Alan

I don't have a non-vented Garde Field Artillery.

Can my FAR 44 normal Prussian artillery non-vent one do?

Here you go.

:-? That is a surprise to me , coz the FAR44 keeps showing up in every collection (probably depo surplus)
but I have never seen a non vented one , can you show a picture of the inside where the spine is attached ?

This is mine ;

Here you go. Only one small hole for the split prongs. No vent holes for the vent shutter

I like your purple background. Is it a pull down backdrop?

Regards
Amy Bellars

Thanks for that picture Amy , amazing , so it is true that a field artillery regiment did make the two options because even in a field artillery unit not everybody was mounted.
The reason why there are still so many FAR44 around is a mystery to me.
Here we have different maker , but they are always 1916.
Yes Amy ,the background hangs from the wall.

I have 3 FAR 44 haubes. All year stamp 1916. I believe that all the 44 in the collecting circles are original. Maybe all recycled as war bond gift as well. Yours look like an unissued one. I have one like that, the other two are rougher.

What is the real significance of the ventless rear spine as I couldn't find much info in my reference books.
