I discovered an interesting lot of these pouches from a gentleman who picked them up around 1962 from Bannerman's and kept them in his barn until recently. He had one on a table at a show a few months back and after I bought it I asked what else he had and he had two more under his table. At some point he then said he had more in his barn at home and if I was patient he would dig them out one day. So, now 3 months later I received 4 more!!!
After having visited the Dreyse House museum in Sömmerda last winter and not seeing any in the museum, or at the Kassel Show, I figured these might be pretty tough to find.
They are dated between 1850 and 1872 and have various units markings. One pair are matched to the Westphalian Fuss Artillerie Regiment 7. The Fusilier issue ones appear to be marked to guard units.
