M1857/60 Pickelhaube

So lately, I've gotten an itch for older Pickelhauben and have gained two examples, an M1842 and this M1857/60. May sound strange, but of the two this is my favorite. Just a classy helmet! I've seen some examples posted on here that were pretty poorly stored over the years and luckily... this one was pretty well cared for. It did have some small restoration work done a LONGGGGG time ago, maybe for display in a museum in Germany. I love it! Enjoy, and if anyone has another example or more info on these I'd love to see them and here about it!

Very nice, great condition. Congratulations! Thanks for posting, one does not often get a chance to see these old beauties close up.
 
That is a very nice example, and it highlights how these the pickelhaubes evolved from cavalry helmets of the era.
