M1915 Feldgrau enlisted man's Hussar

The fit of the kolpack is so thigh that so far I have not removed it
In the case of TonyS.'s example at the Kaiser's Bunker
His has a regt stamped into the top of the Hussar body ( H R 16 )
Steve
yesterday I had a visit from a good collector friend
So , we were looking over some helmets that I had added
to my collection since his last visit
One was my M1915 Hussar
I got up the nerve to remove the tight fitting kolpack
I had hope to find a kammer issue stamp like Tony S. has
No luck , only a size 55 stamped into the top

It was still worth looking wasn’t it? Just be lucky it didn’t have a stamp

MADE IN INDIA

But you would know that by this point. Again congratulations Steve on a rather difficult fur hat to find.
Tony
If they would start to make them that good , I would head for the woods

Why do you all say Colpack when the German name is Colback ???

Well today I found what I have been looking for
a super condition M1915 Feldgrau Hussar
similar to the condition of the one that Tony S. has in his collection.
Not sure about what color the Kolpack is ?

I worked a lot on the colors of WW1 and WW2 materials in my book "war paints". Also, I must say that identifying shades from photos is sometimes difficult.

Yes: I would say Krapprot-Madder.

No need to try to remove as mine will not be unit marked. I would not dare to try that anyway.
This document is interesting I suppose you have all the visuals and names of the time

I am sure the correct colours are in this fine book! Yep.
-The system to attach the Kolpak. Magnetic; galvanised ring. Size depending on the size of the Pelzmütze. Keeping the kolpak in shape and in place. Secured by the hooks on the "lid".

Did you know...

[Book: 'Les hussards allemands et leurs colbacks'] page 6.
*On the direction the furs were attached...
-At first the furs were attached to the frame vertically, hair pointing downward. Naturally brown sealfur.
-As of 1858 the black dyed sealfurs are attached horizontally.
When you face a sealfur Pelzmütze:
...The direction of the hair will point counterclockwise..

Don't know about these Indian seals...🧐
