Has anyone of you gents seen this extra rear spine fixation before? I don't have it on any of my M15 Pickelhaubes but I don't have many (yet)... Is that a maker peculiarity?

Hey James,
Are you saying this is normal for some M1915 to have this extra spine fixation (in addition to the one the screw+bolt that come towards the end of the rear visor)?
Was it maker specific or state specific or random (since none of the M15 EM haubes I've seen till now have it)?

Actually I don't know many issue OR helmets without this. If it misses then it likely broke off because of the tensile stress, which is not uncommon.

To be honest with you, it turns out almost all of my wartime haubes have it as well... Somehow we rarely look at the inside of our helmets except through pictures and these split braids are always hidden by the liner tongues. My bad...
