M1915 Pioneer.

I thought this looked interesting:

It looks to me like a period re-plate, marked to Magdeburg Pioneer Batt.4. with what appears to have two(?) different makers stamps. Pretty good nick, but it could have gone into meltdown at sometime as it appears to have a shellac run on the inside rear visor. And the plate - that could'nt be silver could it?.

I contacted the seller, all metal pieces are magnetic? All my Pioneer Em helmets are non-magnetic..

Pioneer M15 That is not a problem is it. I agree with Mikey. Replate bgut what is with the round maker's mark? I wonder if it is some sort of acceptance mark? A reissue and plate in 1917? A contractor bought the old one and sold it back to the govt in 1917? I contacted the seller about the picture. The oblong one we have.

The seller kindly sent 4 pictures of the round mark. I have posted them in the pickelhaube forum under marker's marks. Perhaps if we can read it the puzzle will look better.

Mikey I see where you mean but I cannot tell either.
City on the bottom is Neu-Isenberg but why 2 marks?

Joe, you don't think that perhaps somebody went out of business and the other firm bought up stocks of leather and some shells already stamped with a makers mark? Would they apply the stamp to the finished article or would it be pre-applied to the leather sheet?

Would they apply the stamp to the finished article or would it be pre-applied to the leather sheet?
My understanding is the former. Out of business? Who knows. There is a 2 year gap in the stamps. I guess this is a puzzle we won't figure just yet.

Actien-Gesellschaft Thiele is the name of the manufacturer. In one of the photos the name is abbreviated Act.-Ges. Thiele,
