I don't know if I posted this one here already, but I took some new pictures anyway, so here it is...
It's an Enlisted Men's helmet from a guy who was in the Reserve first and than transferred to 2. Unter-Elsässisches Infanterie-Regt. Nr.137
(Hagenau) XXI Armee Korps.
Strange is that the stitchingmarks are so deep and very visual...
On the front visor something is written in black ink, but I can't determine what it really means...

I like these plain Infanterie helmets, especially a nice frosty one like this. Very nice as always Karel. I have a few helmets with these indentations on the visors, a cobbler (shoe maker) who was an older gentleman told years ago that this is the result of the tension being set too high on the wheels that moved the leather through the sewing machine.

Karel,

I would argue that he would be in 137 first and then the helmet was sent to the reserve regiment. So same units just other way around.
