M95 Garde Dragoner pickelhaube

It's a while ago since I posted something, but here's another Pickelhaube from my collection... It's a model 1895 Garde Dragoner Regt. Nr.1 Officer's model.
The difference with a general's helmet is the spike... the general's helmet would have a fluted spike.

Hard to measure exactly, but it's something like 2 cm...

A beautiful helme, very nice indeed. Obviously, the owner used some sort of hair product due to the staining on the silk. I wonder....when was Bryl creem invented?? I appeared on the earth in the 1950's does it predate me??

Maybe he just had greasey hair or so :-k ... I do have to say it looks worse in the picture than it actually is... Guess we'll never know...
