M95 Mecklemburg Strelitz

Here’s one of my latest finds… It’s a M95 Mecklemburg Strelitz, produced by Hans Römer, size 56. I can’t read the year of production clearly but I think it’s 1913. The writing is also a little mistery, but maybe someone can make out what it says…
Hope you like it…

Hi Karel,

I think I read MATTHIES on the back but I can´t find any guy with this name at the II/89. Only two guys (Bruno and Franz) and both were in the III/89 (9. and 12. Kompagnie).

Could you post a pict of the back of the Wappen to see how the central piece is fixed on the Strelitz sun?
Thank you!

Philippe

Hello Philippe

You're clever because I do not manage to read the name.

Hi Karel

Nice and rare helmet !

I would be too curious to see the helmet without its Wappen

That one seems ok by me

No no just kidding it is a trully nice one
As we could expect from you karel

When you hit one you hit it hard :thumb up:

Nice helmet Karel. :bravo:

Had one just like it ,but sold it a while ago, hence the small pictures :D

Ed,

Why by the hell did you sold this beauty?
I think the marking was very good and it had a name at the inside of front visor!
The spike is unscrewable, I prefer those kind of helmets this way. A "BA IX" marking alone is even a good sign for such very scarce and often faked helmets.
I also owned one, for a few years. I sold it too, too much doubts...
