Thanks for taking a look,
My latest purchase; enlisted man Oldenburg.
You might think; not another Oldenburg, but this one is special; it has a label in it with the exact spot where and when it was found in France. :happy3:
Regiment stamp : OJR 91 1901 3B (Difficult to see in the picture)

Great helmet .
I think any spiked helmet is worth a look
and yours is a special one .
I will never forget my 1st chance to hold
a spike helmet in my hands , it was after
my exit from collecting the 3rd Reich .

I was on it too....But I was too slow because the price was pretty high...I wanted to make some research to check the place of found before contacting the seller, just to be sure that this tag was not a post-war fake....Because it´s written on it "1914-1918" and the tag is telling the circonstances of found on the 6.9.14 after the german Marne retreat....
But I think the tag is 100% original and has been glued after the war by the french soldier who captured this helmet (maybe with many others).

Yes, place of found: Chateau du Reclus (today Abbaye du Reclus), near the place of the battle of the Marais de Saint Gond, Petit-Morin, September 1914....The III/OJR91 was exactly there at this special short period....

Thanks for the nice comments guys,

According to the label ,this is the place where the helmet was left behind.

Nice helmet you got there

Makes it special with that tag in it for a bit of research

Love that helmet, excellent condition and great markings/label. They just do not get much better than that piece of JR91 History!
