M95 Prussian, with Waterloo bandeau.

Hi, I have this Prussian M95 for years now, it was my first Haube.
No double holes, and a linienadler with Waterloo bandeau on it. It has a large gash on the left of it, which also is visible on the liner.
Something sharp went through it at sometime, but it was repaired. I know the strap and one of the kokarden is a replica.
The paper lable inside is not readable anymore.

Thanks for looking at it!
Greetings, Coert. :)

It breathes history! And what a pity the label on the inside is damaged - I would have loved to read the name of the wearer. And so would you, I guess, Coert :D

I surely would like to know Jaap, but unfortunatly will never know.
I will have to look at the markings on this one, but having a UV light will do so soon.
:)

Nice helmet. It remind me that in 80s I bought one of his brother marked J.R.74. It was my 2th pickelhaube in collection.

Coert, are you able to decypher the mark on the rear visor? Or to post a pict of it? I think it is readable.
Maybe a Reserve unit mark or a BA mark?

Most of the time, the units which were entitled to wear the Waterloo bandeau (JR74, 77, 78, 164 and 165) had the active regiment stamps placed in the shell, behind the front plate.

Nice helmet Coert! My first was a trashy Prussian M15. It's such a pile that I use it as a display form for an Uberzug.
