M95 Vs M15

Great stuff, we did this once before many, many years ago on the forum, probably gone now. Good to see it reinvented.

Agreed! By the way we will be in India tomorrow if anyone wants anything picked up Janet says if you do Joe has to do it. [-X

Great helmets and great pics! The M15 Wurtt. is a rare beast here in N Am. I got mine years ago at the MAX show and I have owned one other which I sold. It took Tony S. years of searching to find his as well. So 3, in 30 years of collecting and now a pic of #4.

Nice Wurt. M15 James, did it have the support disc on the outside at a certain point in time?

By the way ; the Bayers have different cockades;

Great comparison shots! For me, the gilt/brass of the M95s are more attractive than the grey of the M15s but that's just me.

Thanks James #5 it is! Excellent helmet! I have seen Bayern kokarden with darker blue rings than those on a silvered kokarde (OR).

Yes Brian ,well spotted ,On page 67 and 75 in the wonderful reference book “The German Army in the First World War “ we can see a Bavarian Filz and a stahlblech helmet ,both with silver cockades but very different shades of grey :-# ..I mean blue… :oops:
