M97 Baden officer

Howdy all! Hope everyone is well!

Had an amazing one come in last night! Really happy with this and grateful for Randy and AOK.

Had him hold this one for me for about a month until I could properly afford it and I can say it was well worth the wait!

I’ve always wanted a Baden as the Griffin always looked so cool to me! It’ll make a great piece for when I teach classes on imperial Germany!

Tank a gander!

My friend James is also providing a case for this one as I like to pair my officers with cases. Much thanks to my friend!

Next on the list, a EM Saxon M95, if anyone has one for a fair price I’d be very interested!

That’s about it!

All the best and merry Christmas!

Good evening,Very nice helmet, however the Landkokarde is incorrect. You have a Landkokarde for a Hessian officer!!!

You can easily remedy this by exchanging it for a Baden coin with a different stamp. The Baden coin does not have the double red rings.

Thank you for commenting Clovis, I do have to disagree however!

I’ve had it confirmed by Randy and I’ve read extensively on these cockades, here’s a good link to James post about Baden cockade

Thanks, Dan, for that answer. I'm confused. I wasn't aware of that "variant." All my Baden officer's cockades are either the standard Prussian gold one with a red border, or the ribboned one I showed.

In any case, the Hessian cockade is silver-plated nickel silver, and the Baden cockade is gilded brass.

Of course! I’m no expert myself and I’m always learning, I was skeptical too when I saw it but that’s why we have this awesome forum with even better people!

Love learning new things from folks like yourself!
