Is the best I could come up with–maneuver helmet–Chin scales–this is a tough one and I have never seen one like it. :hello2: :hello2:

Cork helme covered in cloth??? Remember Joe the one we saw at the SOS for sale 3 yrs ago. If memory serves, even the chin scales were cloth covered. I think the dealer wanted $8K for it.

That's interesting but as Tony say's - poor condition. What's that 'plunger' thing in the top for? It's a kind of coffee percolator isn't it? :?

Apparently that is were the spike was attached, instead of being fixed the the false spike plate. Probably you could rotate it to adjust ventilation.

Too bad its in such a condition. On the other hand, it was never intended to be durable. I wonder whether the numbers can be detached.

This helmet was on auction at Hermann Historica a while ago and was made by Ludwig Bordtfeld, Bremen.

I remember the one Brian is talking about. It was really nice. Very similar to the example that Robert placed on here if I am correct the front plate was made out of some sort of build up of papier-mâché. The seller also wanted both of my kidneys in exchange for it.

This seller is pretty honest. Most of the time a helmet seen in this condition is listed as “near mint “. all this needs is a little TLC and it comes with its own coffee percolator! :) :)

I didn't do it! Want to have one but could not afford it at the time. I don't think it was a good price anyway. :(
