Did the seller fake the markings on the rear visor or he used original rear visor and stitched to the rest of the make up parts?

IMHO markings are OK and the neckguard originally belong to the helmet.
The problem is the rest: the hemet was restored and completed with non genuine parts (chinstrap, leather liner). The shell was re-laquered.
If the helmet was found in bad conditions missing the liner and chinstrap i think the restorer did a good job.
Personally i prefer untouched helmets.
PS: it's a M1891 not modified in 1895 (spike neck can rotate and close the ventilation holes and no vent hole on the rear spine), really uncommon to find!

This helmet has been overcleaned and polished on all its parts :o
But however I am thinking it´s an original M91 helmet, produced 1894, just before the introduction of the M95 with rear vent.

I also prefer salty, untouched helmets wich have conserved the smell of history, like those one:

I also believe that this is a Model 1891. It has all of the M91 characteristics.
No vent on the rear spine:

The vent opens and closes on the spike:

And it has a slightly more pronounced profile than an M95:

The Wappen is held on with screw posts as it should be on an M91.

It is unfortunate that it has been so heavily polished. I would question the chinstrap's originality, but a Model 1891 is hard to find in any condition.

The liner is definitely a modern replacement.....puffy edges and no wear, no missing finish, no evidence of stress/use.

Here are the picts of the ebay selling. It´s always stupid to read those posts when the ebay original picts are long gone :x

The markings look original and proper to me but I also suspect that the liner is a replacement. Liner problems....a puffy fold line round the rim, folds in the liner itself. Last, the picture of the liner showing the undyed flesh side...this is the rough side and shows no wear.... long filaments of flesh. On originals, these filaments have been worn off through use. In my opinion, this liner has never been worn.
