Me again, with another eBay find, currently very cheap, is this Haube authentic?

1000038822.jpg

He has this lot for sale, Haube with Case, seems to be in decent condition and two Kepis. For me this would make a decent start for my headwear collection, just the Haube throws me a little bit off, the emblem seems very shiny. Sadly the seller dies not provide better pictures, and has told me that there are no stamps and makes inside the helmet.
Can you eagle eyed people here spot any flaws with it?

The lot is currently at 300€ and it doesn't seem to have attracted to much interest so far.

Kind regards!

It is a private purchase helmet, hence no stamps. These are usually still in good condition. Strangely enough, a small piece has been cut out of the liner, perhaps the name may not be known, otherwise it looks fine.

Great thank you! The seller claims that one of the corners from the liner was used to strengthen the "shell"

I agree with that. The spiked helmet is complete, and in good condition.
However, I don't like the French kepi. The B.H. general's kepi is a contemporary fantasy. That said, the spiked helmet and carrying case are worth much more than €300.

One other detail...the liner with square tongues is the older (1842-1880) style private purchase used before the ribbed silk was introduced in 1880.

That's right for 0fficiers, but the ‘Alter Art’ headdress was retained for ‘troop’ Eigentum (one-year contract).
